Golden Metal Resources plc has begun 2,000m diamond drilling on its 100% owned flagship Pilot Mountain tungsten project in Nevada, USA.
HIGH IMPACT
The phase I campaign focuses on strategic resource expansion at the main Desert Scheelite zone, which hosts the “largest known tungsten resource on American soil”.
Drilling will also explore brownfield targets by searching known or currently mined sites for additional deposits to grow currently known contained metal.
The company said it would expand the drill programme at its own discretion following £1,551,401 raised from warrant exercises.
Pilot covers 3,656 acres over four existing mineral deposits of Garnet, Good Hope, Gunmetal along with Desert Scheelite, all of which have skarn-style tungsten-copper-silver-zinc mineralisation.
Golden Metal believes that the Desert Scheelite and Garnet deposits host a combined mineral resource estimate of 12.53Mt at 0.27% tungsten trioxide with significant copper-silver-zinc credits.
Chief executive Oliver Friesen, currently on site, added that the “robust” campaign aimed for a high impact on multiple target areas within the project.
“While no outcomes are guaranteed when drilling, we have been very methodical throughout the preparation process and are excited to now be in position to finally drill test multiple of the project’s exciting target areas.”
