Golden Metal publishes inaugural ESG report

Golden Metal Resources plc has published its inaugural environment, social and governance (ESG) report for its as yet non-producing four metals projects in Nevada, USA.

MANAGEMENT

The company’s principles in the 11-page report include ethical business practices; biodiversity & conservation; social responsibility; sustainable development; and health and safety & risk management.

“By establishing this report so early in the company’s life cycle, it allows us to proactively take steps to manage and improve our overall ESG footprint as Golden Metal’s activity levels increase,” said chief executive officer Oliver Friesen.

INVESTMENT

He added that global investment had undergone a “profound shift” towards ESG-focused investing, particularly in mineral exploration and development.

“At Golden Metal, we believe in transparency when it comes to our ESG policies, not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because it is essential for best positioning ourselves to access a wide range of potential funding sources as we advance our strategy.”
