Golden Metal Resources plc has expanded its footprint by staking claims over 923 acres within the Kibby Basin, host to recent lithium brine discoveries in Nevada, USA.
CONDUCTIVE ANOMALY
The 47 placer claims in Kibby North and Kibby South lie less than 1.5 and 3.5km from the company’s flagship Pilot Mountain tungsten project.
The company also has the rights for any and all lithium brine enrichment found within the claim boundaries.
Golden Metal said that lithium in Nevada was found predominantly within highly conductive brines and clays as opposed to pegmatites.
The Kibby Valley basin, covering 54km2 and bounded by the Pilot Mountains to the west, is located less than 60km north of the prolific Clayton Valley basin.
A 2021 magnetotelluric geophysical survey over Kibby Valley identified a 34km2 conductive anomaly.
Drill hole KB22-02 showed a “169m thick zone of lithium brine mineralisation which was determined to be open in all directions”.
Golden Metal added that the site of the 2021 drill hole is only 250m from Kibby South.
The conductivity anomaly extends in a north-south direction and the company’s lithium properties cover “some of the strongest parts of the conductor” yet to be drill tested.
