Galantas reports further high grade gold intersections at Cavanacaw

Galantas Gold Corporation intersected further high grade gold as the company evaluates an expansion of resources at its Cavanacaw gold project in Omagh, Northern Ireland.

Underground: development will allow for two additional drill bays for multiple underground drills at the Kearney and Joshua veins (Galantas Gold)

JOSHUA VEIN

The Canadian miner is conducting a 4,000m drill programme at the site.

Hole FR-DD-21-175, drilled from surface targeting the Joshua vein, intersected 17.4 g/t gold, 74.6 g/t silver and 1.9 % lead over 13.1m.

In a statement, Galantas said that the hole successfully targeted a potential ‘dilation zone’ within the Joshua vein and includes a higher grade section with 25.3 g/t gold, 108.4 g/t silver and 2.9% lead over 8.7 metres.

In December, Galantas intersected a similar deeper dilation zone during the current programme with hole FR-DD-21-171 intersecting 10.1 g/t gold, 93.5 g/t silver and 3.4% lead over 6.5m.

RESOURCE EXPANSION

Chief executive Mario Stifano added that detailed mapping of the exposed mineralisation identified zones of thicker widths.

This suggested “the significant potential to identify wider zones of mineralisation and higher grades, and the opportunity to significantly expand current resources with additional drilling.”

“The Joshua and Kearney veins remain open along strike and to depth, and only represent two of the 16 veins identified to date.

“Galantas is evaluating accelerating the planned underground development and the required infrastructure to the Joshua vein which is currently 240 metres west of the Kearney development.

“This will allow for two additional drill bays for multiple underground drills at the Kearney and Joshua veins, to expand and accelerate the drilling programme.”
