Galantas Gold Corporation said it had achieved some its the best results to date from the Kearney vein with potential to expand resource at Cavanacaw mine in Omagh, County Tyrone.
KEARNEY VEIN
Results are from three underground holes drilled in a 4,000m drilling programme.
Hole FR-DD-22-UG-181 intersected 31.7 g/t Au and 58.5 g/t Ag over seven metres at the main Kearney vein, including 106.3 g/t gold and 111 g/t Ag over 1m.
The company recorded a deeper intersect of 7.3 g/t Au and 5.7 g/t Ag over 2.3m at a 278-metre vertical depth, approximately 55m east of the main Kearney vein.
LENSES
Hole FR-DD-21-UG-174 intersected 73.6 g/t Au and 93.4 g/t Ag over 2.2m on a parallel-running vein known as the ‘B-lens’, approximately 28m east of the Kearney vein.
Hole FR-DD-21-UG-176 intersected 23.8 g/t Au and 16.8 g/t Ag over 2.9m on a further parallel zone of mineralisation referred to as the ‘C-lens’, approximately 40m east of the Kearney vein.
DILATION ZONES
Drill holes FR-DD-21-UG-174 and 176 targeted parallel zones of mineralisation east of the main vein.
Both holes, and hole FR-DD-22-UG-181, fall within the dilation zone model which has the potential for higher widths of mineralisation.
Galantas also identified high gold mineralisation across two vertical levels at RL000 and RL030 with historical intersection 07-47 on a stringer vein west of Kearney, and a new intersection on the C-lens, separated by 62m west-east.
Chief executive Mario Stifano added the company also plans to advance underground development and infrastructure at the Joshua vein to allow “multiple underground drill platforms” to expand the drilling programme.
