Galantas Gold Corporation said its latest drill results from the Gairloch project in Scotland confirmed the potential for a district-scale polymetallic project.
MINERALISATION
The Canadian company drilled the second exploration hole 23-GL-02 to a depth of 50 metres as a step back from hole 23-GL-01, testing the Kerry Road deposit.
The drillhole intersected 1.88 g/t gold, 1.23% copper, 0.51% zinc, 0.01% cobalt and 4.64 g/t silver over 33m, including 2.55 g/t gold, 1.72% copper, 0.80% zinc, 5.59 g/t silver and 0.01% cobalt over 19.33m.
Galantas has to date completed four of a six-hole programme over the main deposit area.
Hole five is being drilled deep through the centre of the deposit to understand the local stratigraphy and explore for further mineralisation at depth.
A total of 494m has been drilled to date, with the results of holes three and four expected in the coming weeks.
SIGNIFICANT
“This second hole has proven to be far richer and wider than anticipated,” said chief executive officer Mario Stifano.
“The results further confirm our belief that we are sitting on a potentially significant and district-scale, high-grade polymetallic mineral deposit and one that could be of strategic importance for the UK and Europe’s critical metal supply.”
