EnQuest plc will appoint Rani Koya as a non-executive director of the board with effect from 1 January 2022.
She will become a member of the technical and reserves committee.
Ms Koya has more than 20 years’ experience working within large multinational, independent and start-up energy companies.
These include Shell International, Hess and Tullow and have involved a variety of technical, project management and executive management roles across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa.
Between 2017 and 2020 she was chief petroleum engineer at Tullow.
Ms Koya has led multi-billion dollar projects across the globe from unconventional shales in the US to oil developments in East Africa.
Ms Koya is currently the CEO of OGL Geothermal Ltd, a geothermal development company focussed on Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
She is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a trustee for the Oxford Food Hub and a director of South Essex College and the International Women’s Forum UK.
She has a BSc (Hons) in Engineering Science and a MSc in Public Policy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
