Egdon Resources plc said that production had exceeded 390,000 barrels of oil from the Wressle joint venture (JV) in North Lincolnshire.

The JV with interests in PEDL180 and PEDL182 comprises Egdon as operator (30%), Union Jack Oil plc (40%) and Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) plc (30%).
OPERATIONS
The production figure was reported to the community liaison group (CLG) meeting on 15 March 2023.
Egdon added that the Wressle-1 well had continued to flow oil and associated gas at production rates “above forecast expectations” made before the proppant squeeze in August 2021″.
No water has been produced to date.
An extended period of fine tuning and testing is in progress of the three microturbines, connected during January and February, to determine the impact on production.
The company added that the Environment Agency continued to monitor Egdon’s production operation through regular visits to Wressle, with the most recent in 22 February identifying no issues.
There have also been no accidents or spillages since the start of production on the site in January 2021.
Groundwater and surface water monitoring continues.
RESERVOIR TARGETS
Egdon said it would likely drill the next new well or wells from the existing Wressle wellsite.
This follows interpretation and mapping of last year’s reprocessing of 3D seismic data to identify reservoir targets for drilling at the earliest opportunity, subject to regulatory approval.
The company has also commissioned a new competent person’s report incorporating the new field interpretation and production performance data, which will consider all oil and gas bearing formations at Wressle.
SOCIAL
The JV has been operating the Wressle Community Fund in early 2022, transferring it to Broughton Community and Sports Association (BCSA) which runs the fund for local charities and community groups.
Groups outside the remit of the BCSA can also apply directly to Egdon for funds from a smaller pot of money, bringing the total funding to £100,000 a year.
To date, 12 applications have received a total £42,029.60.
The JV also provided additional funding of some £5,500 to allow all eligible applications to be granted.
