Egdon exceeds 500bopd with Wressle proppant squeeze

Egdon Resources plc said that the proppant squeeze had resulted in excess of 500 barrels of oil per day under extended well testing operations at Wressle, North Lincolnshire.

Testing: the joint venture believes considerable potential remains to increase resources at Wressle (Union Jack Oil)

FORECAST

The operator has completed the coiled tubing operation and the Ashover Grit reservoir had returned to flow.

The well flow is continuing to clean-up and has not yet reached its full potential.

Measured flow rates have exceeded 500 barrels of oil per day under a restricted choke setting, which was the forecast rate following the proppant squeeze operation.

The joint venture covering PEDL180 and PEDL182 comprises Egdon (30% operating interest), Union Jack Oil (40% economic interest) and Europa Oil & Gas (30% working interest).

OPPORTUNITIES

Union Jack executive chairman David Bramhill said that Wressle was still at a very early stage in its development.

“Considerable upside potential remains given the higher Wingfield Flags and Penistone Flags reservoirs, that are not part of this test programme, have both already demonstrated their ability to flow oil to surface during testing of the original discovery well, as well as other opportunities within the licence areas.”
