Egdon defers proppant squeeze due to equipment delay

Egdon Resources (UK) Ltd said that a planned proppant squeeze has been postponed by two to four weeks due to a delay in equipment arriving for the oil development at Wressle, North Lincolnshire.

Confident: Egdon does not regard the delay as a material event and expects operations to be soon underway (Union Jack Oil)

Main contractor Schlumberger Oilfield UK plc has been detained due to the equipment being held on a job over-run outside of the UK, as well as tighter import legislation and visa requirements.

The proppant squeeze is the final stage of operations under the field development plan to achieve optimum production levels at the Wressle-1 well.

Egdon added that Schlumberger had given assurances it would adhere to the revised timeline.

The JV holding licences PEDL180 and PEDL182 comprises Egdon (30% and operator), Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) plc (30% working interest) and Union Jack Oil plc (40%).

“Whilst delays are a function of current business dislocations, we do not regard this as a material event in terms of ongoing progress at Wressle,” said Egdon managing director Mark Abbott.

“We are confident that operations will soon be underway, and I look forward to updating the market in due course.”
