Deltic JV completes 3D seismic on Cupertino Area

Deltic Energy plc announced that its partner Cairn Energy plc had completed the 3D seismic survey over licence P2428 (Cupertino Area) and surrounding areas in the Southern North Sea.

Sub-contractor ION Geophysical began the 3D seismic survey on 10 September 2021, covering approximately 680km2, and completed it on 21 November.

Data collected will now be processed with the final results expected during Q2 2022.

The Cupertino and Richmond prospects will also be further evaluated using the newly acquired 3D seismic data.

FARM-OUT

The survey began following Deltic’s farm-out agreement with Cairn Energy plc.

Under the agreement, Cairn funds 100% of the seismic acquisition, processing and associated work programmes up to the point at which a positive well investment decision is made.

Deltic now holds a 40% non-operated interest in licence P2428 which contains the Plymouth prospect.
