Cornish Lithium appoints Kate Harcourt as ESG officer

Cornish Lithium Ltd has appointed Kate Harcourt as environment, social and governance (ESG) officer.

Ms Harcourt has 30 years’ experience as a sustainability professional, predominantly within the mining industry.

She has worked for a number of junior mining companies from the advanced exploration stage to construction and operation, focusing on ESIA*, permitting and environmental management as well as meeting lender and investor requirements.

Ms Harcourt has also contributed to documentation on industry good practice, such as the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Awareness and Preparedness for Emergencies at Local Level (APELL) for Mining (2001), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Good Practice Note on Managing Contractors’ Environmental and Social Performance (2017).

She is currently non-executive director with Condor Gold plc, Roxgold Inc, Orezone Gold Corporation, and sits on Hummingbird Resources plc’s ESG Committee.

Ms Harcourt has a BSc (Hons) in Natural Environmental Science from the University of Sheffield and an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London.
