Cornish Lithium Ltd has appointed Ian Cockerill as independent non-executive chairman among a series of board changes.
He replaces Derek Linfield who will become a non-executive director.
Former NED Louise Wrathall will leave the board to concentrate on her other business interests.
Mr Cockerill has more than 45 years’ experience in the global natural resources industry.
His operational, project and leadership roles include chief executive officer of Gold Fields and Anglo Coal, a subsidiary of Anglo American, as well as other non-executive positions.
Mr Cockerill is currently a non-executive director of BHP Group and is senior independent director at Endeavour Mining.
He was previously chairman of BlackRock World Mining Trust and non-executive chairman of Polymetal International.
He also serves on the board of private company I-Pulse Inc.
Mr Cockerill is a founding board member of an African wildlife charity The Leadership for Conservation in Africa.
He has a BSc in Geology from the University of London, an MSc in Mineral Production Management from the Royal School of Mines at Imperial College and has participated in the Advanced Management Programme at Templeton College, Oxford.
