Corcel plc said it had received its externally commissioned Gap analysis report for its Wowo Gap lateritic nickel-cobalt project (100%) in Papua New Guinea.
GAP ANALYSIS
AMC Consultants Pty Ltd prepared the Gap analysis which builds on the project’s previous owners’ 2010 feasibility study and the 2016 direct shipping ore (DSO) study.
The report includes a comprehensive review of legacy data and proposals for areas of future emphasis in preparation for an application for a mining lease.
Corcel added that key findings included that the company bring up to date offtake assumptions given recent changes in nickel prices.
It also proposed a broader focus to add multiple development concepts including both a DSO alongside HPAL (high pressure acid leach) and DNi (direct nickel) processing options.
The analysis covered geology; nickel demand; geotechnical; operations and infrastructure; mine planning; environmental; economic assessment; and development concept.
