Corcel chairman to step down

Corcel plc non-executive chairman Antoine Karam is to leave the post as part of further changes at the company.

His independent interim replacement will be independent non-executive director Andrew Fairclough.

Interim chief executive Scott Gilbert has assumed a permanent role and will join the board as an executive director on completion of regulatory checks.

Non-executive director Deepak Kohli, previously expected to join the board, will now not do so.

Corcel’s board, subject to checks, comprises executive director and CEO Mr Gilbert, chief commercial officer and MD Angola Geraldine Geraldo, NEDs Mr Fairclough (also interim independent non-executive chairman), Mr Karam and Yan Zhao, and independent NED Pradeep Kabra.

The company is focused on oil exploration in Angola and Brazil.
