Corcel plc has appointed current independent non-executive director Pradeep Kabra as chairman.
He replaces interim postholder Andrew Fairclough who will continue as independent non-executive director on the board and chair of the audit committee. Both first became Corcel directors in December 2023.
“I want to express my gratitude to Andrew for his leadership and guidance during this critical transition phase since July 2024,” said chief executive Scott Gilbert.
“His efforts have been instrumental in laying the foundation for rebuilding our company, and I’m pleased that he will continue to contribute as a valued member of the board.”
The company has also appointed Richard Lane as chief operating officer in a non-board role.
Mr Lane is an experienced executive officer with more than 16 years’ oil industry experience.
He has a geoscience and operations background and is skilled in oil field development, geology/geophysics, new venture evaluations, exploration/development drilling, oil/gas well workovers, and commercial evaluations.
Mr Lane was recently COO at Petro-Victory Energy and formerly employed at Glencore E&P within the subsurface team taking a lead in all E&P-related new ventures.
He has an MSc and his areas of focus include Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.
Corcel’s interests are in oil and gas onshore Angola and gas in Brazil.
