Cora starts Sanankoro tendering process

Cora Gold Ltd has begun the tendering process for the front-end engineering and design (FEED) and construction of the Sanankoro gold mine in southern Mali.

PERMIT BOUNDARIES

The company is also awaiting the end of Mali government’s November 2022 permit moratorium before formally starting the contract mining process.

Its application for the Sanankoro mining permit, which also includes hybrid power and mine camp, is ready for submission.

The company noted the appointment of the new Mali mining minister Amadou Keita as a positive step towards ending the moratorium. He replaces Lamine Traore who resigned on 31 May 2023.

Cora has also been working with the Malian authorities, redrawing “various permit boundaries” to create a 100km2 area for the mining permit.

The total area of the five contiguous permits that comprise the Sanankoro project will remain the same following the redrawing of the boundaries.
