Cora Gold Ltd has begun the tendering process for the front-end engineering and design and construction of the Sanankoro gold mine in southern Mali.
BOUNDARIES
The company is awaiting the end of Mali government’s November 2022 permit moratorium before formally starting the contract mining process.
The application for the Sanankoro mining permit, which includes hybrid power and mine camp, is ready for submission.
Cora noted the appointment of new Mali mining minister Amadou Keita as “a positive step” towards ending the moratorium. He replaces Lamine Traore who resigned on 31 May 2023.
The company added it had also been working with the authorities in redrawing “various permit boundaries” to create a 100km2 area for the mining permit.
The total area of the five contiguous permits that comprise Sanankoro will remain the same.
