Chesterfield finds significant gold mineralised system

Chesterfield Resources plc said that assay returns from recent diamond drilling revealed a significant gold-mineralised system in the Westline target at its Troodos West project in Cyprus.

Geophysics: Chesterfield also plans to explore for higher gold-silver grades and possible zones of copper-zinc enrichment (Chesterfield Resources)

INTERSECTIONS

The company added that thick and locally high-grade gold intersections were evidence of a significant gold-enriched mineralised system which so far covered some 220m by 300m and was open on three sides.

Highlights of assay in drill hole 21WL03 include 21.4m grading 1.75g/t gold, (from 98.7m, downhole), and within this a high-grade zone of 3.3m grading 6.55g/t gold and 90.35 g/t silver (from 100.20m, downhole).

Chesterfield added that 21WL03, drilled this year, had recorded the thickest and highest-grade intersections to date, suggesting that the body increased in size and grade towards the south.

Preliminary results from a nearby hole 21WL02 include 0.82g/t gold over 10.15m (from 96.00 meters), including 1.34g/t gold over 5.75m (from 100.40m, downhole).

FURTHER DRILLING

The drill programme aimed to test for an extension of a gold-mineralised zone identified through compilation of archive work and nearby historic drilling.

In combination, 15 contiguous drill holes outline a continuous, thick, shallowly dipping and tabular body of gold mineralisation, that is also strongly anomalous in copper and zinc.

Chesterfield plans detailed geophysics and further step-out drilling to enlarge the continuous zone of gold mineralisation and explore for higher gold-silver grades and possible zones of copper-zinc enrichment.
