Cadence appoints WAI as PFS manager at Amapá

Cadence Minerals plc has appointed Wardell Armstrong International Ltd as pre-feasibility study (PFS) manager of the Amapa iron ore project in Brazil.

Production: work has started on all critical areas at the Amapa project (Cadence Minerals)

PFS

The company last week completed its 27% acquisition of the project.

Cadence company said that the PFS, which began late last year, is based on producing 5.3 Mt of iron ore concentrate per annum.

The PFS will consider refurbishing and rehabilitating the existing port, rail and plant with modifications being made to the beneficiation plant.

An investigation is also underway into optimisation opportunities and potential cost savings in the transportation of the iron ore concentrate, particularly in transhipment and movement of ore from the mine to the rail loadout.

PROGRESS

Cadence added that all the other areas within the PFS were progressing as expected.

Work has started on all critical areas, including mining, beneficiation, infrastructure, energy, tailings storage facilities, logistics and sales and marketing.
