Block able to receive gas at West Rustavi EPF

Block Energy plc said its wells could now receive gas in readiness for the installation of the sales pipeline in West Rustavi, Georgia.

Success: Block aims to restart oil production and first sales of associated gas (Block Energy – licence area)

TESTS

The company has on time and budget completed construction of the gathering line between the early production facility (EPF) on the West Rustavi oil and gas field and WR-38Z.

“The pipeline has been successfully pressure tested at 6,600 kPa with no failures,” said Block in a statement.

“The EPF is now ready to receive gas from wells WR-16aZ and WR-38Z, which will remain shut-in to conserve gas until the gas sales line has been constructed and gas sales can commence.”

SALES

Georgian independent gas company Bago LLC has agreed to purchase the gas from the EPF.

Block added that Bago was continuing to construct its gas sales line to recover time lost due to the pandemic.

After completion, oil production from West Rustavi will restart and first sales of associated gas will begin.
