Partners Hartshead Resources NL and Viaro Group subsidiary RockRose Energy Ltd engaged marine surveyor Gardline Ltd for more than a month to acquire a “large amount” of seabed technical and environment data.

The MV Ocean Observer ran more than 1000km of seismic lines took 52 cone penetration tests (CPT) and 23 Vibrocores to help define the seabed status.

Gardline also took 27 seabed samples and camera transects to identify any habitats and provide information for the environmental baseline survey.

Results from analysis are expected in 2024.

Hartshead said that the survey would also be used to support the tendering process for the pipelines EPCI*, to which the JV has invited five pipeline and subsea installation companies.

The Australian company expects responses during the current quarter before the contract is awarded in early 2024.
