Angus Energy plc has started work on extending its gas pipeline by 750 metres at Saltfleetby near Mablethorpe on the Lincolnshire coast.
The news comes after the onshore hydrocarbon exploration company agreed all planning conditions with Lincolnshire County Council.
Angus has instructed sub-contractors to commence drilling and trenching works on the extension for pipeline to the National Grid Theddlethorpe entry point.
The company said: “Contractors have already begun exploratory works and the principal heavy works are expected to be concluded by 6 November followed by tie-in of the ‘Golden Weld’ to National Grid.
“This is the point where the newly laid pipeline (an Angus asset) is connected to the National Grid owned infrastructure.
“Backfilling of testing and access pits is also expected to be completed during the remainder of November.”
Completion of work, including installation of processing facilities and the pipeline extension, will bring the field onstream in early 2021.
In September, Angus announced it hoped to raise £12 million with support from its 49% partner Saltfleetby Energy, to redevelop Saltfleetby. (bit.ly/2GvaJC5)
