Angus Energy plc said that logistical issues had delayed rig procurement causing the sidetrack to be deferred at Saltfleetby gas field in East Lindsey, Lincolnshire.

The company added that the deferment avoided the risk of a drill programme running over into its commissioning timetable.
“Whilst simultaneous drilling and commissioning operations are not considered to be safe, simultaneous drilling and production operations are manageable once the plant can evidence reliable and stable flow of sales gas and good functioning of all safety equipment.
“The company is preparing for the requisite risk evaluation of a drilling programme commencing in April without disrupting production.”
EQUIPMENT
Angus is targeting first gas for the end of February 2022.
The company is waiting for more than a thousand pieces of equipment, including valves, actuators, circuits, vessels, pipes and flanges.
Most of the components are off the shelf alongside some more significant bespoke items and are expected to arrive between December 2021 and May 2022.
SCHEDULE
The company also outlined its schedule with site civil engineering due to run from mid-December to mid-January.
Pipework procurement has started and welding is due to take place from early January to the end of February.
Electrical, control and instrumentation installation layout will begin at the end of January.
“Of necessity, we operate amidst the backdrop of a disrupted supply and logistical environment, and our suppliers, whilst advising us of the same, have shown a willingness to work with us to tighten advised delivery timetables wherever possible,” added the company.
