Angus awaits approval to re-inject water at Brockham

Angus Energy plc said it expected to hear during September from the Environment Agency over its application to re-inject water for reservoir management at the Brockham field PL235 in Surrey.

The intervention involves the abandonment of the Kimmeridge layer and re-perforation the Portland layer (Angus Energy)

CONSULTATION

The hydrocarbon company, which has an 80% interest, added that if the application were approved, a further period of consultation would follow.

This would allow for a variation of permit to be issued in late October or early November.

The site holds wells BRX2Y, BRX3 and BRX4Z.

Angus added that it had also started to approach local and national stakeholders for consultation regarding an intervention in BRX4-Z.

INTERVENTION

“This intervention would involve the abandonment of the Kimmeridge layer and re-perforation the Portland layer in order to benefit from pressure support from water injection,” said the company in a statement.

“The re-perforation itself would be a relatively low level intervention and would not require drilling, although this and the abandonment would require the presence of a rig for a brief period of time.

“Any operation would be subject to approval of water injection by Environment Agency as well as traditional local authority and other regulatory approvals.”
