Angus Energy plc has received a permission to re-inject waste water into one of the existing boreholes at its onshore oil project in Brockham, Surrey.

EA: the permit sets out stringent conditions to which all oil and gas sites must adhere (Angus Energy)

REQUIREMENTS

The Environment Agency (EA) issued a permit variation which stipulates that the waste water must be from the company’s operations at the site.

The decision follows public consultation between 29 December 2021 and 31 January 2022.

A spokesperson said that the EA had taken into account all relevant considerations and legal requirements.

“An environmental permit sets out stringent conditions that all oil and gas sites must adhere to.

“We will not issue an environmental permit for a site if we consider that activities taking place will cause significant pollution to the environment or harm to human health.”
